78th Assembly of the U.S.G.
Accompanied by John Keating, O.Carm., Councillor General for Europe and Delegate for Formation, the Prior General, Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., participated in the bi-annual assembly of the Union of Superiors General (U.S.G.), which took place in Rome from the 23rd to 25th November on the theme “Passing on the Faith”. The principle objective of the assembly was to prepare a possible contribution from the Consecrated Life to the forthcoming Synod of Bishops which will take place in October of 2012 on the theme “The New Evangelization for the passing on the Christian faith”. In this regard, with the evangelical experience of the Consecrated Life, various suggestions that might contribute to the theme of the Synod were studied.
During the assembly the Superiors General of the Mendicant Orders met to consider the theme from their perspective. Next May the Mendicant Generals will meet again to further study the theme with the help of some experts.

Acompañado del P. John Keating, O.Carm., Consejero para Europa y Delegado de Formación, el Prior General, Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., ha participado en la 78ª Asamblea semestral de la Unión de Superiores Generales (U.S.G.) que se ha celebrado en Roma del 23 al 25 de noviembre y que ha tenido como título: “Trasmitir la fe”. El objetivo principal de dicha asamblea ha sido el de preparar la posible aportación de la Vida Consagrada al próximo Sínodo de los Obispos que tendrá lugar en octubre de 2012, sobre el tema: "La nueva evangelización para la transmisión de la fe cristiana". En este sentido, se han estudiado diversas sugerencias que, desde la experiencia evangelizadora de la Vida Consagrada, pueden ayudar al tratamiento del tema en el Sínodo.
En el marco de dicha Asamblea, se han reunido los Generales de las órdenes mendicantes, con el objetivo de analizar el tema desde la óptica peculiar de los mendicantes. Dichos Generales se volverán a reunir de nuevo en mayo próximo para profundizar más en el tema con la ayuda de algunos expertos.

Accompagnato da P. John Keating, O.Carm., Consigliere Generale per Europa e Delegato per la Formazione, il Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., ha partecipato all'Assemblea semestrale dell'Unione dei Superiori Generali (USG), che si è tenuta dal 23 al 25 novembre sul tema "Trasmettere la fede". L'assemblea aveva come obiettivo principale di preparare un possibile contributo della Vita Consacrata al prossimo Sinodo dei Vescovi che si svolgerà nell'ottobre 2012 sul tema "La nuova evangelizzazione per la trasmissione della fede cristiana". In questo senso alla luce dell'esperienza evangelizzatrice della Vita Consacrata, sono stati studiati vari suggerimenti che potrebbero contribuire a trattare il tema del Sinodo.
Durante l'Assemblea si sono incontrati i Superiori Generali degli Ordini mendicanti per analizzare il tema dal loro punto di vista. Nel maggio prossimo i Generali mendicanti si incontreranno di nuovo per approfondire il tema con l'aiuto di alcuni esperti.
