The Funeral of Fr. John Malley, O.Carm.
In the Carmelite parish of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, on the 24th of February, the funeral took place of Fr. John Malley, O.Carm. who was Prior General of the Carmelite Order from 1983 to 1995. The Bishop of Tucson, Gerard F. Kicanas presided at the celebration, which was led by the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm. The concelebrants included Fr. Falco Thuis, O.Carm. and Fr. Joseph Chalmers, O.Carm., Priors General from 1971 to 1983 and from 1995 to 2007 respectively, as well as Fr. Carl Markelz, Prior Provincial of the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, Fr. William Harry, O.Carm., Commissary Provincial of the West, and Fr. Vernon Malley, O.Carm. a brother of Fr. John, along with several Carmelite and diocesan priests.  The funeral was also attended by many religious from different Carmelite congregations and a large number of students from our highschool (Salpointe Catholic High School).

En la parroquia carmelita de “Saint Cyril of Alexandria”, se ha celebrado el día 24 de febrero el solemne funeral por el alma del P. John Malley, O.Carm., que fue Prior General de la Orden de 1983 a 1995. El funeral fue presidido por el Obispo de Tucson, Monseñor Gerald F. Kicanas, siendo el celebrante principal el Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., con quien concelebraron los PP. Falco Thuis, O.Carm., Joseph Chalmers, O.Carm. (priores generales de 1971 a 1983 y de 1995 a 2007, respectivamente), el P. Carl Markelz, Provincial de la Provincia Americana del Purísimo Corazón de María (PCM), el P. William Harry, O.Carm., Comisario Provincial para el Oeste, y el hermano del P. John, P. Vernon Malley, O.Carm., así como numerosos carmelitas y sacerdotes diocesanos. Estuvieron también presentes varias religiosas de diversas congregaciones carmelitas y numerosos alumnos de nuestro colegio (Salpointe Catholic High School).

Il 24 febbraio, nella parrocchia carmelitana di S. Cirillo di Alessandria, sono state celebrate le esequie solenni del P. John Malley, O.Carm., ex Priore Generale dell'Ordine dal 1983 al 1995. Ha presieduto il funerale il Vescovo di Tucson, Mons. Gerald F. Kicanas, mentre la S. Messa è stata celebrata dal Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., con il quale hanno concelebrato i PP. Falco Thuis, O.Carm., Joseph Chalmers, O.Carm. (rispettivamente priori generali dal 1971 al 1983 e dal 1995 al 2007), dal P. Carl Markelz, Provinciale della Provincia Americana del Puríssimo Cuore di Maria (PCM), e dal P. William Harry, O.Carm., Commisario Provinciale dell'Ovest, e dal fratello del P. John, P. Vernon Malley, O.Carm., insieme a numerosi carmelitani e sacerdoti diocesani. Erano presenti anche varie religiose di diverse congregazioni carmelitane e numerosi alunni del nostro collegio (Salpointe Catholic High School).
La Curia Generale ringrazia di cuore tutti coloro che hanno inviato da tutto il mondo numerosi messaggi di condoglianze.
