News from the Postulator General
Over the last few months, the Postulator General, Prof. Giovanna Brizi, has reported at a number of different events on matter dealing with Postulation, particularly with the new Norms for the Administration Funds for the Causes of Beatification and Canonisation” approved by Pope Francis in March 2016.
Thus on the 23rd of September she spoke to the participants at the General Congregation held at Fatima, and on the 14th of October, to the Superiors General of Carmelite Congregations gathered at Focene (Rome, Italy).
On the 20th of October, the “pilgrimage” of the body of Blessed Battista Spagnoli (known as the Mantuan) ended with the return of his venerated remains to the Mantuan Cathedral where they were solemnly received by Bishop Marco Busca of Mantua along with the representatives of the institutes of consecrated life in the diocese and by the faithful. The Postulator General attended the event along with the Carmelite community from the shrine of San Felice del Benaco.
In addition, on the 22nd of October, the Postulator General took part in the canonical recognition of the mortal remains of Blessed Bartolomeo Fanti, whose incorrupt body rests also in the Cathedral of Mantua, alongside that of Battista Spagnoli, whose illustrious teacher he was. On this occasion too, there was a change of habit.
The bodies of the two blesseds, with the agreement of the Diocese of Mantua and the local authority have undergone non-invasive scientific examinations with a view to ensuring better preservation of them in time and of obtaining valuable information about the lifestyle of the time. The operations concluded on the 28th of October.

Noticias de la Postulación General
Durante los últimos meses, la Postuladora General, Profesora Giovanna Brizi, ha informado en distintos foros sobre algunas cuestiones relacionadas con la Postulación y de forma especial sobre las nuevas “Normas sobre la administración de los bienes de las Causas de beatificación y canonización” aprobadas por el Papa Francisco en marzo de 2016. Así, el día 23 de septiembre habló a los participantes en la Congregación General celebrada en Fátima y el pasado 14 de octubre habló a las Superioras Generales de las Congregaciones femeninas carmelitas, reunidas en Focene (Roma, Italia).
El 20 de octubre se dio por terminada la “peregrinatio” del cuerpo del beato Bautista Spagnoli (“el Mantuano”), con el retorno de su cuerpo incorrupto a la Catedral de Mantua, donde fue solemnemente recibido por el Obispo de Mantua, Monseñor Marco Busca, y por representantes de los institutos de vida consagrada presentes en la diócesis, así como por numerosos fieles. En dicho evento han participado la Postuladora General y los miembros de la comunidad carmelita del Santuario de San Felice del Benaco.
Además, el 22 de octubre, la Profesora Brizi participó en el reconocimiento canónico (“recognitio canonica”) de los restos mortales del beato Bartolomé Fanti, cuyo cuerpo incorrupto reposa también en la Catedral de Mantua, junto al del beato Bautista Spagnoli, del que fue “excelso maestro”. Además, también en este caso se ha procedido a la sustitución del hábito. Los cuerpos de los dos beatos han sido sometidos a una valoración científica forense no invasiva, hecha de acuerdo con la Diócesis de Mantua y con la “Soprintendenza” (la policía local). El objetivo era el de asegurar una mejor conservación de ambos y, a su vez, obtener una valiosa información acerca del estilo de vida de la época. Esta investigación concluyó el pasado 28 de octubre.

Durante gli ultimi mesi, la Postulatrice generale, Prof.ssa Giovanna Brizi, ha relazionato, in diversi incontri, su alcune questioni inerenti la Postulazione e, in modo particolare, sulle nuove “Norme sull’amministrazione dei beni delle Cause di beatificazione e canonizzazione”, approvate da Papa Francesco nel marzo 2016.
Così, il giorno 23 settembre ha parlato ai partecipanti alla Congregazione Generale, celebrata a Fatima, e lo scorso 14 ottobre ha parlato alle Superiori Generali delle Congregazioni religiose femminili carmelitane, riunitesi a Focene (Roma, Italia).
Il giorno 20 ottobre è terminata la “peregrinatio” del corpo del beato Battista Spagnoli (detto il Mantovano), con il ritorno delle venerate spoglie nella Cattedrale di Mantova, dove sono state solennemente accolte da mons. Marco Busca, vescovo di Mantova, dai rappresentanti degli Istituti di vita consacrata presenti nella Diocesi e dai fedeli. Ha partecipato all'evento la Postulatrice generale e la Comunità carmelitana del Santuario di San Felice del Benaco.
Inoltre, il giorno 22 ottobre la Postulatrice generale ha preso parte alla ricognizione canonica dei resti mortali del beato Bartolomeo Fanti, il cui corpo incorrotto riposa anche nella Cattedrale di Mantova, accanto a quello del beato Battista Spagnoli, di cui fu eccelso maestro. Si è proceduto, anche in questo caso, alla sostituzione dell’abito.
I corpi dei due Beati, in accordo con la Diocesi di Mantova e la locale Soprintendenza, sono stati sottoposti a indagini scientifiche non invasive al fine di assicurarne una migliore conservazione nel tempo e ottenere interessanti informazioni sullo stile di vita dell’epoca. Le operazioni si sono concluse il giorno 28 ottobre.
