A Meeting of the O.Carm. and O.C.D. General Councils on Mount Carmel
From the 27th of November to the 2nd of December, a meeting of the O.Carm. and O.C.D. General Councils took place at the Casa "Stella Maris" on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. With the help of Fr. Agostino Montan, CSI, a professor at the Pontifical Lateran University, the time was dedicated to a reflection on the church practice of the relationship between hierarchical gifts and charismatic gifts. Much time was also provided for a sharing between the two Councils on a variety of topics that affect the Orders.
On the morning of the 29th of November, the members of the two Councils visited the places of Carmelite interest on Mount Carmel. Under the excellent guidance of Fra. Fausto Spinelli, O.C.D. the bursar of the Delegation in Israel, and President of the Joint International Commission for the Restoration of the Ancient Ruins of the First Carmelite Foundation on Mount Carmel, they visited the Wadi 'ain es Siah. Following that, all enjoyed a meal together at Muhraqa.
On Thursday, the 1st of December, the members of the two Councils visited the biblical places in Galilee with Fr. Francisco Negral, O.C.D. as their expert guide.
We thank the community of friars, especially Fr. Enrique Castro, O.C.D. for their wonderful hospitality and the Carmelite Sisters at "Stella Maris" for making us feel so much at home.

Encuentro de los Consejos Generales OCarm y OCD en el Monte Carmelo
Del 27 de noviembre al 2 de diciembre tuvo lugar en la Casa “Stella Maris” del Monte Carmelo (Haifa, Israel) el encuentro de los Consejos Generales OCarm y OCD. Con la ayuda del P. Agostino Montan CSI, profesor en la Pontificia Facultad Lateranense, durante estos días se reflexionó sobre la práctica eclesial de poner en relación los dones jerárquicos y los dones carismáticos. Se reservó además un buen espacio del encuentro a compartir entre los dos Consejos los diversos temas que afectan a ambas Órdenes.
Durante la mañana del día 29 de noviembre los miembros de ambos Consejos visitaron los lugares carmelitanos del Monte Carmelo. Bajo la excelente guía de Fray Fausto Spinelli, OCD, ecónomo de la Delegación de Israel y presidente de la comisión conjunta internacional para la restauración de las ruinas del primer convento carmelita del Monte Carmelo, visitaron Wadi ‘aines Siah. Después, el grupo compartió fraternalmente la comida en el convento de Muhraga.
El jueves 1 de diciembre los miembros de los dos Consejos visitaron los lugares bíblicos de Galilea bajo guía experta del P. Francisco Negral, OCD.
Agradecemos cordialmente a la comunidad de hermanos, especialmente al P. Enrique Castro, OCD, su gran hospitalidad, como también a las Hermanas Carmelitas de “Stella Maris” que hicieron que nos sintiésemos en casa.

Incontro dei Consigli Generali OCarm e OCD sul Monte Carmelo
Dal 27 novembre al 2 dicembre si è tenuto nella Casa “Stella Maris” sul Monte Carmelo ad Haifa, in Israele, l'incontro dei Consigli Generali OCarm e OCD. Con l’aiuto di P. Agostino Montan CSI, professore alla Pontificia Facoltà Lateranense, questi giorni sono stati dedicati alla riflessione sulla pratica ecclesiale della relazione tra doni gerarchici e doni carismatici. Inoltre, durante l’incontro, è stato lasciato abbastanza spazio alla condivisione tra i due Consigli su diversi temi che toccano entrambi gli Ordini.
La mattina del 29 novembre i membri dei due Consigli hanno visitato i luoghi carmelitani sul Monte Carmelo. Con la guida eccellente di Fra Fausto Spinelli, OCD, economo della Delegazione di Israele e preside della commissione congiunta internazionale per il restauro delle rovine del primo convento carmelitano sul Monte Carmelo, hanno visitato il Wadi 'ain es Siah. Successivamente, presso il convento di Muhraqa il gruppo ha condiviso un pranzo fraterno.
Giovedì 1 dicembre i membri dei due Consigli hanno visitato i luoghi biblici della Galilea con la guida esperta di P. Francisco Negral, OCD.
Ringraziamo cordialmente la comunità dei frati, specialmente P. Enrique Castro, OCD, per la grande ospitalità e le Suore Carmelitane di “Stella Maris” che ci hanno fatto sentire a casa.
