Carmelite European Youth Gathering
Some 40 participants from the provinces of Malta, Italia, Poland, Britain, Ireland, Arago-Castile-Valencia, Betica, the General Commissariat of Portugal, the French Delegation and some young people on behalf of the Hermanas de la Virgen Maria del Monte Carmelo (Orihuela, Spain), took part in the third section of the Carmelite European Youth project “Awakening” at the “The Friars”, Aylesford, England from the 14th to the 18th August, 2019. Two previous gatherings had taken place, one in Fatima and the second at San Felice del Benaco, Italy.
Each day addressed a different theme and the main speakers were Carmelites, Fr. Miceal O’Neill (Contemplation and Action), Fr. Michael Plattig (Incarnated Spirituality and the schools of spirituality), Fr. Desiderio Garcia Martinez (Paths of transformation: Teresa of Avila – a woman who comes out of her comfort zone) and Sabrina Rubio Perez and Javier Bernabeu Almela (Leadership). There were also recorded video interviews relating to three significant Carmelites saints as witnesses in their time; the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millan Romeral (on Blessed Titus Brandsma), Fr. Lucio Maria Zappatore (on Blessed Angelo Paoli) and Sr. Olivia Kelly, OCD (on Therese of Lisieux). The programme was both dynamic and interactive. As part of the programme, the young people had the opportunity of participating at Evensong in Canterbury Cathedral. The event was organized by the Carmelite European Youth Committee, Frs. David Oliver (ACV), Luca Sciarelli (Ita), Dave Twohig (Hib), Bro. Joao Costa (Lus), Sabrina Rubio Perez (ACV) and Daniela Pereira (Lus) and led by Fr. John Keating (Curia).
The committee are deeply grateful to the Prior Provincial of the British Province, Fr. Kevin Alban, the Prior of Aylesford, Fr. Francis Kemsley and the Aylesford community for their generous support of this gathering and the wonderful welcome they received from the Aylesford staff and administration.

Encuentro carmelitano de jóvenes europeos
Unas 40 personas procedentes de las Provincias de Malta, Italia, Polonia, Gran Bretaña, Irlanda, Aragón-Castilla-Valencia y Bética, del Comisariado General de Portugal, de la Delegación de Francia y algunas hermanas de la Virgen María del Monte Carmelo (Orihuela, España), han participado en la segunda parte del proyecto carmelitano europeo “Awakening”, que tuvo lugar del 14 al 18 de agosto de 2019 en Aylesford, Inglaterra. Los dos encuentros anteriores se celebraron en Fátima, Portugal, y en San Felice del Bénaco, Italia.
Un conferenciante carmelitano expuso cada día un tema: P. Miceal O’Neill (Contemplación e Acción), P. Michael Plattig (La espiritualidad encarnada y las escuelas de espiritualidad), P. Desiderio García Martínez (Caminos de transformación: Teresa de Ávila – la mujer que sale de su ámbito de confort) y Sabrina Rubio Pérez y Javier Bernabeu Almela (Leadership). También se realizaron entrevistas, registradas en video, relativas a tres santos carmelitas significativos como testigos de su tiempo: al Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral (sobre el Beato Tito Brandsma), al P. Lucio María Zappatore (sobre el Beato Ángelo Paoli) y a sor Olivia Kelly, OCD (sobre Santa Teresa de Lisieux). La programación fue dinámica e interactiva. Los jóvenes tuvieron también la oportunidad de participar en el “Eversong” en la catedral de Canterbury. El encuentro fue organizado por la Comisión europea para la juventud, compuesta por los Padres David Oliver (ACV), Luca Sciarelli (Ita), Dave Twohig (Hib), fray Joao Costa (Lus), Sabrina Rubio Pérez (ACV) e Daniela Pereira (Lus), y guiado por el P. John Keating (Curia).
La comisión está muy agradecida al Prior de la Provincia Británica, P. Kevin Alban, al Prior de Aylesford, P. Francis Kemsley y a su comunidad por su generoso apoyo a dicho encuentro y por la maravillosa acogida recibida por parte del personal y de la administración de Aylesford.

Incontro dei giovani carmelitani europei
Dal 14 al 18 agosto 2019 ad Aylesford, in Inghilterra, circa 40 persone, provenienti dalle Province Maltese, Italiana, Polacca, Britannica, Irlandese, Arago-Castiglia e Valencia, Bética, dal Commissariato Generale del Portogallo, dalla Delegazione di Francia, e alcune giovani in rappresentanza delle Hermanas de la Virgen Maria del Monte Carmelo (Orihuela, Spagna), hanno partecipato alla terza parte del progetto carmelitano europeo “Awakening”. I due incontri precedenti si sono tenuti a Fatima e a San Felice del Benaco, in Italia.
Ogni giorno è stato dedicato ad un tema specifico offerto da un relatore carmelitano: P. Míceál O’Neill (Contemplazione e Azione), P. Michael Plattig (Spiritualità incarnata e le scuole di spiritualità), P. Desiderio García Martinez (Sentieri di trasformazione: Teresa d'Avila – una donna che esce dalla sua zona di comfort) e Sabrina Rubio Perez e Javier Bernabeu Almela (Leadership). Sono state proiettate anche alcune video-interviste registrate relative a tre santi carmelitani, che si sono rivelati significativi per il proprio tempo: al Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral (sul Beato Tito Brandsma), a P. Lucio Maria Zappatore (sul Beato Angelo Paoli) e a Sr. Olivia Kelly, OCD (su Teresa di Lisieux). Il programma è stato dinamico ed interattivo. I giovani hanno avuto anche l'opportunità di partecipare al "Evensong" nella cattedrale di Canterbury.
L'incontro è stato organizzato dal Comitato per la Gioventù carmelitana europea, composto dai PP. David Oliver (ACV), Luca Sciarelli (Ita), Dave Twohig (Hib) e fr. Joao Costa (Lus), Sabrina Rubio Perez (ACV) e Daniela Pereira (Lus) e guidato da P. John Keating (Curia).
Il Comitato esprime profonda gratitudine al Priore Provinciale della Provincia Britannica, P. Kevin Alban, nonché al Priore di Aylesford, P.
