News from the Postulator General: Blessed Titus Brandsma, O. Carm.

On May 25, 2021, the Congress of Theological Consultors recognized the miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Titus Brandsma, O. Carm., relating to the scientifically inexplicable healing of Fr. Michael Driscoll, O. Carm.

The positive result of this second, fundamental stage towards canonization, will allow the Cause to be submitted to the judgment of the Ordinary Session of the Cardinals and Bishops, members of the Congregation. In the event of a positive outcome, the Prefect of the Congregation will then submit the conclusions of the Ordinary Session of the Cardinals and Bishops for the approval of the Supreme Pontiff. Finally, the Supreme Pontiff will convene the Ordinary Consistory in which the canonization of the Blessed will be officially announced.

Let us rejoice at the results achieved so far but let us continue to pray to the Lord so that the process will continue happily and we can arrive at the canonization of Blessed Titus Brandsma.

El 25 de mayo de 2021, el Congreso de Consultores Teológicos reconoció el milagro atribuido a la intercesión del Beato Tito Brandsma, O. Carm., referente a la curación científicamente inexplicable del P. Michael Driscoll, O. Carm.

La resolución positiva de esta segunda etapa, fundamental para la canonización, permitirá someter la Causa al juicio de la Sesión Ordinaria de los Cardenales y Obispos, miembros de la Congregación. En caso de que el resultado sea positivo, el Prefecto de la Congregación someterá las conclusiones de la Sesión Ordinaria de Cardenales y Obispos a la aprobación del Sumo Pontífice. Finalmente, el Sumo Pontífice convocará el Consistorio Ordinario en el que se anunciará oficialmente la canonización del Beato.

Alegrémonos de los resultados obtenidos hasta ahora, pero sigamos rezando sin cesar al Señor para que el proceso continúe felizmente y podamos llegar a la canonización del Beato Tito Brandsma.

Il 25 maggio 2021 il Congresso peculiare dei Consultori Teologi ha riconosciuto il miracolo attribuito all’intercessione del beato Titus Brandsma, O. Carm., relativo alla guarigione scientificamente inspiegabile di p. Michael Driscoll, O. Carm.

Il superamento positivo di questa seconda, fondamentale tappa verso la canonizzazione, consentirà alla Causa di essere sottoposta al giudizio della Sessione Ordinaria dei Cardinali e Vescovi, membri della Congregazione. In caso di esito positivo, il Prefetto della Congregazione sottoporrà all’approvazione del Sommo Pontefice le conclusioni della Sessione Ordinaria dei Cardinali e Vescovi. Il Sommo Pontefice infine convocherà il Concistoro Ordinario nel quale sarà annunciata ufficialmente la canonizzazione del beato.

Rallegriamoci per i risultati finora raggiunti ma continuiamo incessantemente a pregare il Signore affinché l’iter prosegua felicemente e si possa giungere alla canonizzazione del beato Titus Brandsma.
