Bl. Candelaria of St. Joseph, virgin On February 1, the Carmelite Order celebrates Blessed Candelaria. The day is celebrated as an optional memorial in Latin America. Bl Candelaria was born Susana Paz-Castillo Ramírez in 1863. She enthusiastically welcomed the call of God to holiness, and since her youth, stood out in practicing living and effective charity, with which she cared for, consoled and healed the sick and wounded that strife had left on the streets of her birth city. She began the foundation of a new religious congregation, dedicated to serving the poor. Today they are known as the Venezuelan Carmelite Sisters or Carmelites of Mother Candelaria. The beatification of Mother Candelaria of St. Joseph took place on April 27, 2008, in Caracas, Venezuela.
+ + + Beata Candelaria de San José, virgen El 1 de febrero la Orden de los Carmelitas celebra Beata Candelaria. Celebró como un día memoria libre en América Latina. Nacida el 11 de agosto de 1863, Susana Paz-Castillo Ramírez, su nombre de Bautismo, acogió con entusiasmo la llamada de Dios a la santidad, y desde muy joven descolló en la práctica de la caridad viva y efectiva, con la cual atendió, consoló y curó a los enfermos y heridos que las contiendas bélicas habían dejado en las calles de su ciudad natal. Inició la fundación de una nueva Congregación religiosa, dedicada al servicio de los pobres. Hoy son conocidas como Hermanas Carmelitas Venezolanas o Carmelitas de la Madre Candelaria. La beatificación de la Madre Candelaria de San José tuvo lugar el día 27 de abril de 2008 en Caracas, Venezuela.

Nata l'11 agosto 1863, Susanna Paz-Castillo Ramírez, il suo nome di battesimo, accolse con entusiasmo la chiamata di Dio alla santità, e fin da molto giovane si distinse per la pratica della carità viva ed effettiva,con la quale assistette,consolò e curò i malati e i feriti che le vicende belliche avevano lasciato nelle strade della sua città natale. Fondò una Congregazioni femminile dedicata al servizio dei poveri. Oggi sono conosciute come Suore Carmelitane Venezuelane o Carmelitane di Madre Candelaria. La beatificazione di Madre Candelaria de San José si è svolta il 27 aprile 2008 a Caracas, Venezuela.
