Prior General on the 100th Anniversary of the Indonesian Province Since July 2022, the Carmelites in the Philippines have been sponsoring a yearlong pilgrimage of the relics of St. Titus Brandsma. The pilgrimage was the result of a decision of the previous provincial council to promote the life of the Carmelite saint to the people of the nation. The relics made more than 90 stops during the year. Although the designated year finished, dioceses are still contacting the province to ask for the relics to visit them. Read more ... + + +

New Book Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of St. Thérèse's Birth To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of St. Thérèse of Lisieux and the 100th anniversary of her beatification, Carmelite Media is proud to make available the book Singing the Mercies of the Lord: Writings on Saint Thérèse of Lisieux by Brian J. Nolan, a lifelong devotee of the French Carmelite. Mr. Nolan has published extensively on the spirituality of St. Thérèse, the English mystics and Irish saints. He taught theology at the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy in Dublin. This book, edited by his son, Carmelite Simon Nolan, offers a wonderful introduction to St. Teresa's spirituality and some of the family influences on her. Three articles examine the plays that St. Teresa wrote, directed and sometimes performed in. This relatively recent area of study offers another window into the spirituality of one of the Church's most popular saints. El Prior General sobre el centenario de la provincia de Indonesia Este año se celebra el primer centenario de la presencia carmelita en Indonesia. Todo comenzó en 1923, cuando tres frailes de la Provincia holandesa llegaron a Java Oriental, a la ciudad de Malang. Tras unos orígenes muy modestos, la presencia carmelita en Indonesia ha crecido hasta incluir ahora unos cuatrocientos frailes, dos monasterios de monjas, tres congregaciones afiliadas y una Tercera Orden Carmelita muy fuerte. Nuevo libro para celebrar el 150 aniversario del nacimiento de Santa Teresa Para celebrar el 150 aniversario del nacimiento de Santa Teresa de Lisieux y el centenario de su beatificación, Carmelite Media se enorgullece de publicar "Singing the Mercies of the Lord: Writings on Saint Thérèse of Lisieux" (Cantando las misericordias del Señor: Escritos sobre Santa Teresa de Lisieux) de Brian J. Nolan, devoto de toda la vida de la carmelita francesa. El Sr. Nolan publicó extensamente sobre la espiritualidad de Santa Teresa, así como sobre los místicos ingleses y los santos irlandeses. Fue profesor de teología en el Instituto Milltown de Teología y Filosofía de Dublín.
