ENGLISH CELEBRATING AT HOME - 13TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Dear brothers and sisters in Christ. As you use this prayer know that the Carmelites will be remembering in our prayer all the members of our family at this time. Click the links below to download the prayers and reflections for this coming Sunday. Feel free to share these resources widely. In the longer version of this Sunday’s gospel (Mk 5:21-43) Mark presents two stories of healing and restoration worked by Jesus for two women. One is a mature woman suffering from a haemorrhage for a long time, and the other is a young girl who has just died. Over the last few Sundays Mark has been showing us the reign of God’s grace (the Kingdom of God) at work in the person of Jesus. In the calming of the storm Mark has already insisted that it is necessary to have faith in Jesus in order to enter into the Kingdom. Faith is about entering into relationship with Jesus. It is not the work of the mind but of the heart.
ESPAÑOL CELEBRANDO EN FAMILIA - EL DECIMOTERCER DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo: Recordad que mientras vosotros oráis en familia los carmelitas os recordaremos a todos vosotros. En la versión más larga del evangelio de este domingo (Mc 5, 21-43), Marcos presenta dos historias de curación y restauración realizadas por Jesús a dos mujeres. Una es una mujer madura que sufre una hemorragia desde hace tiempo, y la otra es una joven que acababa de morir. Durante los últimos domingos, Marcos nos ha mostrado “el reino de la gracia de Dios” (el Reino de Dios) en la persona de Jesús. En la tempestad calmada Marcos ha insistido en que es necesario tener fe en Jesús para entrar en el Reino. La fe consiste en entrar en relación con Jesús. No es obra de la mente, sino del corazón.
ITALIANO CELEBRANDO IN CASA - 13 DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO Cari fratelli e sorelle in Cristo, Mentre pregate, sappiate che in questo periodo i Carmelitani vi ricordano nelle loro preghiere, così come tutti i membri della famiglia carmelitana. Nella versione più lunga del Vangelo di questa domenica (Mc 5, 21-43) Marco narra due storie di guarigione e risurrezione da parte di Gesù per due donne. Una è una donna adulta che da molti anni soffre per una emorragia, l’altra è una ragazzina appena morta. Da alcune domeniche Marco ci sta mostrando il regno della grazia di Dio (il Regno di Dio) operante nella persona di Gesù. Nell’episodio in cui la tempesta è sedata e torna la bonaccia già si afferma chiaramente che è necessario aver fede in Gesù per entrare nel Regno. Aver fede significa entrare in relazione con Gesù. Non è un esercizio mentale, ma un movimento del cuore.
