ENGLISH LECTIO DIVINA Lord Jesus, send your Spirit to help us to read the Scriptures with the same mind that you read them to the disciples on the way to Emmaus. In the light of the Word, written in the Bible, you helped them to discover the presence of God in the disturbing events of your sentence and death. Thus, the cross that seemed to be the end of all hope became for them the source of life and of resurrection.
CELEBRATING AT HOME - 18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Our journey through Chapter 6 of St John’s Gospel continues... This Sunday, the crowd has caught up with Jesus. He accuses them of looking for him only because he gave them all the bread they wanted to eat, not because they had understood that the bread was a sign of the real food Jesus was offering: himself. Jesus urges them to work for ‘food that endures to eternal life’. Working for this food means to believe in the one God has sent: Jesus himself.
ESPAÑOL LECTIO DIVINA Señor Jesús, envía tu Espíritu, para que Él nos ayude a leer la Biblia en el mismo modo con el cual Tú la has leído a los discípulos en el camino de Emaús. Con la luz de la Palabra, escrita en la Biblia, Tú les ayudaste a descubrir la presencia de Dios en los acontecimientos dolorosos de tu condena y muerte. Así, la cruz, que parecía ser el final de toda esperanza, apareció para ellos como fuente de vida y resurrección.
CELEBRANDO EN FAMILIA - EL DECIMOCTAVO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO Continuamos nuestro recorrido por el capítulo 6 del Evangelio de Juan... Este domingo, la multitud ha encontrado a Jesús, quien los acusa de buscarlo sólo porque les había saciado con todo el pan que podrían comer, y no porque hayan comprendido que el pan era un signo del verdadero alimento que Jesús ofrecía: él mismo. Jesús les insta a trabajar por "el alimento que dura para la vida eterna". Trabajar por este alimento significa creer en aquel que Dios ha enviado: el mismo Jesús.
ITALIANO LECTIO DIVINA Signore Gesù, invia il tuo Spirito, perché ci aiuti a leggere la Scrittura con lo stesso sguardo con il quale l’hai letta Tu per i discepoli sulla strada di Emmaus. Con la luce della Parola, scritta nella Bibbia, Tu li aiutasti a scoprire la presenza di Dio negli avvenimenti sconvolgenti della tua condanna e della tua morte. Così, la croce che sembrava essere la fine di ogni speranza, è apparsa loro come sorgente di vita e di risurrezione.
CELEBRANDO IN CASA - XVIII DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO Continua il nostro cammino attraverso il capitolo 6 del Vangelo di Giovanni... Questa domenica, vediamo la folla raggiungere Gesù. Egli li accusa di cercarlo solo perché ha dato loro tutto il pane che volevano mangiare, non perché avessero capito che il pane era un segno del vero cibo che Gesù offriva: se stesso. Gesù li esorta a darsi da fare per il “cibo che dura per la vita eterna”. Si tratta, in fondo, di credere in colui che Dio ha mandato: Gesù stesso.
