Brussels celebration to mark the the 4th centenary of the death of Fr. Jerome Gracián.
This year marks the 4th centenary of the death of Fr. Jerome Gracián who died in Brussels in 1614 (citoc-online 3/2014). Fr. Gracián was the friend and supporter of St. Teresa of Avila. On Sunday the 21st September 2014 at 15.30h at Couvent des Carmes, Avenue de la Toison d’Or, 45, Mass will be celebrated at the location of the house where he died in Brussels, Belgium. The principal celebrant and preacher will be the Superior General of the Discalced Carmelites, Fr. Saverio Cannistrà, OCD. Present also will be the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., the Vice-Prior General, Fr. Christian Körner, O.Carm. and Fr. John Keating, O.Carm., Councillor General for Europe.
In addition, on the 12th and 13th November next, as previously noted, a conference will be held in Madrid (calle Ayala) on Gracián with the participation of a number of scholars. This event will conclude with a Mass on the 14th November at the Church of San José in Madrid (former convent of San Hermenegildo), celebrated by the Prior General. More detailed information about this congress will be sent in the coming months.

Celebración del IV centenario de la muerte de Girolamo Gracián en Bruselas
Este año se celebra el IV centenario de la muerte de Girolamo Gracián, acaecida en Bruselas el año 1614 (citoc-online 3/2014). El P. Gracián fue amigo y defensor de Santa Teresa de Ávila. El domingo 21 de septiembre, a las 15.30, tendrá lugar la celebración de una eucaristía en el lugar donde estaba ubicado el convento de Bruselas, Bélgica, en el que murió: Couvent des Carmes, Avenue de la Toison d'Or, 45. El celebrante principal será el Prepósito General de los Carmelitas Descalzos, P. Saverio Cannistrà, OCD, que también pronunciará la homilía. Concelebrarán el Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., el Vice-Prior General, P. Christian Körner, O.Carm., y el P. John Keating, O.Carm., Consejero General para Europa.
Asimismo, los días 12 y 13 de noviembre, como ya se informó, tendrá lugar en Madrid (calle Ayala) un congreso sobre su figura en el que participarán varios estudiosos. Los actos concluirán con una misa solemne que tendrá lugar el día 14 de noviembre en la Iglesia de San José en Madrid (antiguo convento de San Hermenegildo), presidida por el Prior General. Sobre este congreso se mandará una información más detallada en los próximos meses.

In quest'anno si celebra il IV centenario della morte di Gerolamo Gracian avvenuta nel 1614 a Bruxelles (citoc-online 3/2014). P. Gracián fu amico e sostenitore di Santa Teresa d'Avila. Domenica, 21 settembre 2014, alle 15.30, sarà celebrata un'eucaristia, dove era situato il convento di Bruxelles, Belgio, in cui morì: Couvent des Carmes, Avenue de la Toison d’Or, 45. Il celebrante principale sarà il Preposito Generale dei Carmelitani Scalzi, P. Saverio Cannistrà, OCD, il quale terrà anche l'omelia. Concelebreranno con lui il Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., il Vice-Priore Generale, P. Christian Körner, O.Carm. e P. John Keating, O.Carm., Consigliere Generale per l'Europa.
Inoltre, il 12 e 13 novembre, come già avvisato, a Madrid in Calle Ayala si svolgerà un congresso su P. Gracián, a cui parteciperanno diversi studiosi. Le celebrazioni si concluderanno con una messa solenne, il 14 novembre nella chiesa madrilena di San José, l'antico convento di San Hermenegildo, presieduta dal Priore Generale. Nei prossimi mesi verranno date altre informazioni sul congresso.
