A Meeting of the International Secretariat  for Nuns
From the 29th of November to the 2nd of December last, the first meeting of the International Secretariat for Carmelite Nuns took place in the Carmelite monastery of the Incarnation in Zaragoza in Spain. Those who attended were, Fr. Mario Alfarano (General Delegate for the Nuns), Sr. M. Pilar Simon i Blasco (BAR), Sr. Inés M. Carmona Ortiz (TRU), Sr. M. Elena Tolentino (BUR, Federal leader of the Philippines), Sr. Liliana Campos Rosa (ANT), Sr. Marianna Caprio (VET), Fr. Paul Denault (SEL). The points that were discussed at the meeting included the following:  communication at the service of communion between the monasteries and the federations of the Order, and between the nuns and the General Curia; formation initiatives at the international level; the process for updating the Nuns’ Constitutions. The first session was attended by the prioress of the community in Zaragoza, and the assistant to the Mater Unitatis Federation who having welcomed the participants, spoke about their situation and responsibilities. The Prior General who attended the last session, encouraged the work of the Secretariat as a service not only to the nuns but to the Order as a whole.

Reunión del Secretariado Internacional para las Monjas
Del 29 de noviembre al 2 de diciembre se celebró en el monasterio de las monjas carmelitas de la Encarnación de Zaragoza, España, la primera reunión del Secretariado Internacional para las Monjas Carmelitas. Asistieron: el P. Mario Alfarano, Delegado General para las Monjas, Sor Mª Pilar Simón i Blasco (BAR), Sor Inés Mª Carmona Ortíz (TRU), Sor Mª Elena Tolentino (BUR, Federal de Filipinas), Sor Liliana Campos Rosa (ANT), Sor Marianna Caprio (VET) y el P. Paul Denault (SEL). Estos son los principales puntos tratados y valorados por el Secretariado: la comunicación al servicio de la comunión entre los monasterios y las Federaciones de la Orden, y entre las monjas y la Curia General; las iniciativas en el campo de la formación a nivel internacional; el proceso de actualización de las Constituciones de las monjas. A la primera sesión asistieron también la priora de Zaragoza y la federal y asistente de la federación Mater Unitatis, las cuales, después de dar la bienvenida a los participantes, presentaron a los mismos la vida y espacios del monasterio. A la sesión final asistió el Prior General, que animó al Secretariado en su trabajo al servicio no sólo de las monjas, sino también de toda la Orden.

Incontro del Segretariato Internazionale per le Monache
Dal 29 novembre al 2 dicembre passato si è svolto a Saragozza, in Spagna, nel monastero delle carmelitane dell’Incarnazione, il primo incontro del Segretariato Internazionale per le Monache Carmelitane. Erano presenti: P. Mario Alfarano (delegato generale per le monache), Sr. M. Pilar Simon i Blasco (BAR), Sr. Inés M. Carmona Ortiz (TRU), Sr. M. Elena Tolentino (BUR, federale delle Filippine), Sr. Liliana Campos Rosa (ANT), Sr. Marianna Caprio (VET), P. Paul Denault (SEL). I punti principali su cui ha lavorato il Segretariato sono stati i seguenti: la comunicazione al servizio della comunione tra i monasteri e le federazione dell’Ordine e tra le monache e la Curia Generale; le iniziative di formazione a livello internazionale; il processo di aggiornamento delle Costituzioni delle monache. Alla prima sessione hanno preso parte la priora di Saragozza e la federale e l’assistente della federazione Mater Unitatis i quali, oltre a dare il benvenuto ai partecipanti, hanno condiviso una presentazione sulle loro rispettive realtà e mansioni. All’ultima sessione è stato presente il Priore Generale che ha incoraggiato il lavoro del Segretariato a servizio non solo delle monache, ma anche di tutto l’Ordine.
