The activities of the Prior General
Last 29th of November, the Prior General, Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., in the company of Fr. Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm., Councillor General for Asia, Australia and Oceania, attended the Vigil of Prayer in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome, which marked the opening of the Year of Consecrated Life. The Vigil was led by Archbishop José Rodriguez Carballo, OFM, Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CIVCSVA). The one who organised the beautiful liturgy was Fr. Giuseppe Midili, O.Carm., consultor of the Office for Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff and director of the Liturgical Office of the diocese of Rome.
On the 2nd of December, the Prior General took part in the meeting of the Secretariat for Nuns that took place in Zaragoza, organised by Fr. Mario Alfarano, O.Carm. General Delegate for Nuns (citoc-online, 112/2014). Accompanied by the members of the Secretariat and by the nuns of the monastery of Zaragoza, he led the celebration of the Eucharist in the chapel of the Virgen del Pilar, and at the end of the celebration, he was invited to kiss the venerable image, in representation of the whole Carmelite family.
While he was in Spain, he met Fr. Rodolfo Aznarán, O.Carm., and the board of directors of the Nuestra Senora del Carmen college in Lima (Peru) who had just been awarded in Madrid the International Certificate for Excellence in Education (EFQM). The Prior General congratulated them for this important achievement.
On the 10th of December, in the company of various members of the Carmelite Curia, he visited the Lay Centre at Foyer Unitas, a centre directed by Professor Donna Orsuto. Having celebrated the Eucharist, the Prior General spoke about the Year of Consecrated Life and its importance for the whole Church.

Actividades del Prior General
El pasado día 29 de noviembre, el Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., acompañado el P. Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm., Consejero General para Asia, Australia y Oceanía, participó en la Vigilia de oración celebrada en la Basílica de Santa Maria Maggiore en Roma con la que daba comienzo el año de la vida consagrada. La vigilia fue presidida por Monseñor José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM., Arzobispo Secretario de la Congregación para los Institutos de Vida Consagrada y Sociedades de Vida Apostólica (CIVCSVA). El encargado de la hermosa liturgia fue el P. Giuseppe Midili, O.Carm., Consultor de la Oficina de las Celebraciones Litúrgicas del Sumo Pontífice y Director de la Oficina Litúrgica de la Diócesis de Roma.
El 2 de diciembre el Prior General participó en la reunión del Secretariado para las Monjas que tuvo lugar en Zaragoza y que fue organizada por el P. Mario Alfarano, O.Carm., delegado para las monjas (citoc 112/2014). Acompañado de los miembros del Secretariado y de las hermanas del Monasterio de Zaragoza, presidió la eucaristía en la capilla de la Virgen del Pilar y, al término de la misma, fue invitado a besar la venerable imagen en representación de toda la familia carmelitana.
Aprovechando su estancia en España recibió a Fray Rodolfo Aznarán, O.Carm y al equipo directivo del colegio “Nuestra señora del Carmen-Carmelitas” de Lima (Perú) que habían recibido en Madrid la Certificación Internacional de Excelencia Educativa (EFQM). El Prior General les felicitó por este importante reconocimiento.
El día 10 de diciembre, acompañado de varios miembros de la Curia, visitó el “Lay Centre at Foyer Unitas”, dirigido por la profesora Donna Orsuto. Tras celebrar la eucaristía, el Prior General habló acerca del año de la vida consagrada y su importancia para toda la iglesia.

Attività del Priore Generale
Il 29 novembre scorso il Priore Generale P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., accompagnato dal Consigliere Generale per l’Asia, Australia e Oceania, P. Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm., ha partecipato alla veglia celebrata nella Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore a Roma in occasione dell’apertura dell’Anno della Vita Consacrata. La veglia era presieduta da Mons. José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM, Arcivescovo Segretario della Congregazione per gli Istituti di Vita Consacrata e le Società di Vita Apostolica (CIVCSVA). Il responsabile per la liturgia è stato P. Giuseppe Midili, O.Carm., Consultore dell’Ufficio per le celebrazione Liturgiche del Sommo Pontefice e direttore dell’Ufficio liturgico della Diocesi di Roma.
Il 2 dicembre il Priore Generale ha partecipato a Saragozza alla riunione del segretariato per le monache. Ha presieduto l’eucaristia nella cappella della Vergine del Pilar ed alla fine è stato invitato a baciare la venerabile immagine in rappresentanza di tutta la famiglia carmelitana.
Approfittando del soggiorno in Spagna ha incontrato Fra Rodolfo Aznarán, O.Carm e l’equipe direttiva del collegio “Nuestra Señora del Carmen-Carmelitas” di Lima, Perù, che avevano ricevuto a Madrid il Certificato Internazionale d’Eccellenza Educativa (EFQM). Il Priore General si è complimentato con loro per questo riconoscimento importante.
Accompagnato da vari membri della Curia ha visitato il 10 dicembre il “Lay Centre at Foyer Unitas”, diretto dalla Prof.ssa Donna Orsuto. Al termine della celebrazione eucaristica ha parlato dell’Anno della Vita Consacrata e del suo significato per tutta la Chiesa.
