A Meeting for New Priors Provincial, Commissaries General, and Delegates General.
From the 1st to the 4th of December, 2015 the first meeting for new Priors Provincial, Commissaries General, and Delegates General, organised by the General Council, took place at CISA in Rome. Along with all the members of the General Council, fifteen friars, from all parts of the world, recently elected to their office, took part. Following the greeting and introduction by the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral, the former Abbot of St. Paul outside the Wall, Dom Edmund Power, OSB, offered a reflection on authority and leadership. This was followed by work in groups to discuss the challenges encountered up to now.
The various members of the General Council and the Secretary General presented a series of inputs on topics of importance for the exercise of the role of superior. The role of the Prior Provincial as it is laid out in the Constitutions was outlined by the Councilor General for Europe, John Keating (Parts I & II) and the Vice-Prior General, Christian Körner (Parte IV). The responsibility of authority according to the RIVC was explained by Fr. Giampiero Molinari (Ita). The Prior General, Fernando Millán Romeral, spoke about the care of fraternity, and the Councilor General for Africa, Fr. Conrad Mutizamhepo, spoke about the decisions of the 2013 General Chapter. The juridical issues, norms of conduct and canonical procedures were dealt with by the Procurator General Fr. Michael Farrugia. Input on the administration of temporal goods, transparency and financial procedures was given by the Bursar General, Fr. Carl Markelz. Lastly, the Secretary General Fr. Francisco de Sales Alencar Batista, explained the importance of communication and the relationship between the local entities and the General Curia. Fr. Míceál O’Neill. the Prior of CISA, acted as moderator throughout the meeting.
The participants, as well as their study of important topics for the exercise of their ministry to the brethren, also had a rich experience of the fraternity and internationality of our Order.

Encuentro con los nuevos Priores Provinciales, Comisarios Generales y Delegados Generales
Del 1 al 4 de diciembre, en el CISA (Roma), por vez primera tuvo lugar una reunión de nuevos Priores Provinciales, Comisarios Generales y Delegados Generales, organizada por el Consejo General. Junto con todos los miembros del Consejo General participaron 15 frailes de todo el mundo, recientemente elegidos para este servicio.
Tras la bienvenida e introducción del Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, el abad emérito de la Basílica de San Pablo Extramuros en Roma, Edmund Power OSB, presentó una reflexión sobre la autoridad, seguida de un compartir en grupos lingüísticos sobre los diversos desafíos a afrontar. Luego, varios miembros del Consejo General y el Secretario General presentaron temas importantes para el desarrollo del papel de superior. El rol del prior provincial, como se describe en las Constituciones de la Orden, fue presentado por el Consejero General para Europa, P. John Keating, (Parte I y II) y el Vice Prior General P. Christian Körner (Parte IV). El P. Giampiero Molinari (Ita) abordó el tema de la responsabilidad de la autoridad según la RIVC, desde la perspectiva de un formador.
A continuación, el Prior General, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, habló sobre el reto del cuidado de la fraternidad; y el Consejero General para África, P. Conrad Mutizamhepo, expuso las decisiones y el mensaje final del Capítulo General 2013. El Procurador General, P. Michael Farrugia, explicó la parte jurídica, las normas de conducta y los procedimientos canónicos. El Ecónomo General, P. Carl Markelz presentó el tema de la administración de los bienes temporales, la transparencia y los procedimientos sobre la economía. Por último, el Secretario General, P. Francisco de Sales Alencar Batista, presentó la importancia de la comunicación y las relaciones entre las entidades locales y la Curia General. El P. Míceál O’Neill, prior de CISA, ayudó con la moderación del encuentro a lo largo de toda la reunión.
Los participantes profundizaron en los temas de importancia para el ejercicio de su servicio a los hermanos y también disfrutaron de un maravilloso tiempo de fraternidad y de la internacionalidad de nuestra Orden.

Incontro con i nuovi Priori Provinciali, Commissari Generali e Delegati Generali
Dal 1 al 4 dicembre si è svolto per la prima volta al CISA a Roma un incontro per i nuovi Priori Provinciali, Commissari Generali e Delegati Generali, organizzato dal Consiglio Generale. Insieme a tutti i membri del Consiglio Generale hanno partecipato 15 frati, provenienti da tutto il mondo e recentemente eletti a questo servizio.
Dopo il saluto e l’introduzione del Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, l’abate emerito di San Paolo fuori le mura (Roma), Edmund Power OSB, ha presentato una riflessione sull’autorità, seguita da una condivisione in gruppi linguistici sulle sfide finora affrontate. Poi dai vari membri del Consiglio Generale e dal Segretario Generale sono stati presentati temi importanti inerenti allo svolgimento del ruolo del superiore. La presentazione del ruolo del priore provinciale così come è descritto nelle Costituzioni dell’Ordine è stata presentata dal Consigliere Generale per l’Europa, P. John Keating, (parte I e II) e dal Vice Priore Generale P. Christian Körner (parte IV). La responsabilità dell’autorità secondo la RIVC dal punto di vista di un formatore è stata sottolineata nella relazione di P. Giampiero Molinari (Ita). Il Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, ha parlato poi sulla sfida della cura della fraternità, mentre il Consigliere Generale per l’Africa, P. Conrad Mutizamhepo, ha esposto alle decisioni e al messaggio finale del Capitolo Generale 2013. La parte giuridica, riguardante le norme di condotta e le procedure canoniche, è stata presentata dal Procuratore Generale, P. Michael Farrugia. Una presentazione sull’amministrazione dei beni temporali, sulla trasparenza e sulle procedure riguardanti l’economia è stata fatta dall’Economo Generale, P. Carl Markelz. Infine, il Segretario Generale, P. Francisco de Sales Alencar Batista, è intervenuto sull’importanza della comunicazione e dei rapporti tra le entità locali e la Curia Generalizia. Per quanto riguarda la moderazione ha aiutato durante tutto l’incontro il priore del CISA, P. Míceál O’Neill.
In questo incontro i partecipanti non solo hanno approfondito temi importanti per l’esercizio del loro servizio verso i fratelli, ma hanno anche goduto di un tempo meraviglioso di fraternità e internazionalità del nostro Ordine.
