International Course for Formators and Vocation Promoters
From October 31 to November 12, 2016, the International Course for Formators and Vocation Promoters of the Order organized by General Formation Commission took place in Batu-Malang, Indonesia. Fifty formators and vocation promoters, from eighteen countries took part.
The two-week course was centered on the theme: “Walk with us: Growing in the contemplative dimension of life,” (RIVC #10). A number of experts in the Order were invited to speak on the theme of contemplation. Fr. Berthold Anton Pareira (Indo) spoke on the Sacred Scriptures as the Source of Contemplation; Fr. Michael Plattig (Ger) spoke of Contemplation in the Carmelite Tradition; Fr. Quinn Conners (PCM) gave two conferences on the themes,  Ability to Give Love and Give of Oneself, and The Capacity for Responsible Care and Stewardship Expressed in “Service in the Midst of the People.” Fr. Desiderio Garcia Martinez (ACV) gave two conferences on the themes, Accompanying Formandi in a Multi-Cultural Community in Growing into Contemplation, and Accompanying Simple Professed Formandi in Growing into Contemplation in the Midst of Technology Influx. During the meeting, two vocation promoters were also asked to share their experience of formation promotio:  Br. Daryl Moresco (PCM) spoke about the Theological dimension of Vocation Promotion while Fr. Irvin Mangmang (Phil) spoke on the Practice and Experience of Vocation Promotion. All the conferences were in the morning while the afternoons were spent in the practice of contemplative prayers.
Fr. Benny Phang Khong Wing, General Councilor for Formation and Fr. Noel Rosas, Administrative Secretary for Formation shared the success of the course with the collaborators: Fr. Raul Maraví, the General Councilor for the Americas as Spanish simultaneous translator during the course, Fr. Edison Tinambunan (Indo) and his team for the local organization, Fr Ignasius Budiono (Indo), the Provincial of Indonesia for hosting and great support, the Carmelite student friars, and all the benefactors and people working behind the scene. All the participants departed hopeful and with renewed spirit.

Curso internacional para formadores y promotores vocacionales
Organizado por la Comisión General para la Formación, se ha celebrado en Batu-Malang, Indonesia, del 31 de octubre al 12 de noviembre, el curso para formadores y promotores vocacionales. Participaron 50 formadores y promotores vocacionales procedentes de 18 países.
El curso duró dos semanas y trató el tema "Camina con nosotros: crecer en la dimensión contemplativa de la propia vida" (RIVC, 10). Algunos expertos de la Orden fueron invitados a profundizar en este tema: el P. Berthold Anton Pareira (Ind) habló sobre la Sagrada Escritura como fuente de contemplación y el P. Michael Plattig (Ger) sobre la contemplación en la tradición carmelitana. El P. Quinn Conners (PCM) dio dos conferencias: "Capacidad de dar amor y de darse a sí mismo" y "Capacidad de ofrecer curación y una gestión responsable en el servicio en medio del pueblo". También el P. Desiderio García Martínez (ACV) ofreció dos conferencias: "Acompañar a los formandos en una comunidad multicultural que crece en contemplación" y "Acompañar a los formandos de votos temporales para crecer en contemplación en un contexto de influencia tecnológica". Dos promotores vocacionales fueron también invitados a hablar sobre el tema de la promoción vocacional. Fray Daryl Moresco (PCM) presentó la "Dimensión teológica de la promoción vocacional" y el P. Irvin Mangmang compartió una presentación sobre la "Práctica y experiencia de la promoción vocacional". Todas las conferencias fueron por la mañana, dedicándose las tardes a la práctica de la oración contemplativa.
El P. Benny Phang Khong Wing, Consejero General para la formación, y el P. Noel Rosas, Secretario administrativo para la formación, dieron las gracias a todos los que colaboraron en la buena marcha del curso: P. Raúl Maraví, Consejero General para las Américas, por la traducción simultánea al español, P. Edison  Tinambunan (Ind) y sus colaboradores por la organización logística, P. Ignasius Budiono (Ind), Provincial de la Provincia de Indonesia, por la hospitalidad y gran apoyo, los estudiantes carmelitas, los bienhechores y cuantos trabajaron entre bastidores. Los participantes regresaron con esperanza y con espíritu renovado.

Corso internazionale per formatori e promotori vocazionali
Dal 31 ottobre al 12 novembre si è svolto a Batu-Malang, in Indonesia, il corso internazionale per formatori e promotori vocazionali dell’Ordine, organizzato dalla Commissione Generale per la Formazione. Hanno partecipato 50 formatori e promotori vocazionali provenienti da 18 paesi.
Il corso, della durata di due settimane, ha avuto il seguente tema: “Cammina con noi: crescere nella dimensione contemplativa della propria vita” (RIVC, 10). Per approfondire tale tematica sono stati invitati alcuni esperti dell’Ordine: P. Berthold Anton Pareira (Indo) ha parlato sulla Sacra Scrittura come fonte di contemplazione e P. Michael Plattig (Ger) sulla contemplazione nella tradizione carmelitana. P. Quinn Conners (PCM) ha tenuto due conferenze: “Capacità di donare amore e donare se stessi” e “Capacità di offrire una cura e una gestione responsabile nel servizio in mezzo al popolo”. Anche P. Desiderio García Martínez (ACV) ha offerto due conferenze: “Accompagnare i formandi in una comunità multiculturale che cresce nella contemplazione” e “Accompagnare i formandi con voti temporanei nella crescita nella contemplazione in un contesto di influsso tecnologico”. Durante l’incontro sono stati invitati anche due promotori vocazionali per parlare sul tema della promozione vocazionale. Fra Daryl Moresco (PCM) ha presentato la “Dimensione teologica della promozione vocazionale” e P. Irvin Mangmang ha condiviso una presentazione sulla “Pratica ed esperienza della promozione vocazionale”. Tutte le conferenze sono state tenute nella mattinata, mentre il pomeriggio è stato dedicato alla pratica della preghiera contemplativa.

Noel Rosas, Segretario amministrativo per la formazione, hanno ringraziato tutti coloro che hanno contribuito al successo del corso: P. Raúl Maraví, Consigliere Generale per le Americhe, per la traduzione simultanea in spagnolo, P. Edison Tinambunan (Indo) e i suoi collaboratori per l’organizzazione logistica, P. Ignasius Budiono (Indo), Priore Provinciale della Provincia Indonesiana per l’ospitalità e il grande sostegno, gli studenti carmelitani, i benefattori e tutti quelli hanno lavorato dietro le quinte. Tutti i partecipanti sono partiti con speranza e con spirito rinnovato.
