Meeting of the General Council
The most recent meeting of the General Council was held from the 29th May to the 6th June. Apart from the various issues regarding ordinary administration and the reports of General Councillors, the Prior General and his Council made the following appointments:

Regens Studiorum (with effect from academic year 2017-2018): Míceal O'Neill, who had previously been re-appointed prior of CISA during session 178 on the 13th March, 2017.

Second Councillor of the General Delegation of France: Martin Gilloux.
Prior of the community of Nantes in France: Gianfranco Tuveri.

The Council also approved extra translations of the new formula for simple and solemn profession.

In addition to the work of the Council, on the 6th of June at our Curia the six-monthly meeting with members of the General Council of the Discalced Carmelites was held. The OCD Superior General, Fr. Saverio Cannistrà, presented an outline of the USG Assembly that took place from the 24th-26th May 2017, during which two fundamental themes were considered: the first concerned consecrated life and interculturality, while the second centred on the forthcoming Synod of Bishops on "Young People, Faith and Vocation Discernment". Various information was then exchanged, including a discussion on the World Youth Day in January 2019 in Panama and on preparation of the next meeting of ALACAR (Latin American Carmelite Association), to be held from the 23rd to the 27th October 2018. The meeting ended with lunch which took place in a warm and fraternal environment.

Reunión del Consejo General
Las últimas sesiones del Consejo General tuvieron lugar del 29 de mayo al 6 de junio. Además de tratar algunos temas de administración ordinaria y los informes de los Consejeros Generales, el Prior General y su Consejo hicieron los siguientes nombramientos:

Regens Studiorum (a partir del año académico 2017-2018): Míceál O’Neill, que en la sesión 178 del 13 de marzo de 2017 había sido nombrado prior del CISA.

Segundo consejero de la Delegación General de Francia: Martin Gilloux.
Prior de la comunidad de Nantes, Francia: Gianfranco Tuveri.

El Consejo también aprobó otras traducciones de la nueva fórmula de la profesión simple y solemne.

Además del trabajo del Consejo, en nuestra Curia tuvo lugar en el marco de estas sesiones plenarias, el 6 de junio, la reunión semestral con los miembros del Consejo General de los Carmelitas Descalzos. El Prepósito General OCD, P. Saverio Cannistrà, presentó un informe sobre la asamblea de la USG celebrada del 24-26 de mayo de 2017, en la cual se afrontaron dos temas fundamentales: el primero referente a la vida consagrada y a la interculturalidad, mientras el segundo se centró en el próximo Sínodo de los Obispos que tendrá como tema “Los jóvenes, la fe y el discernimiento vocacional”. También se intercanviaron diversas informaciones, entre otras, sobre la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud de enero del 2019 en Panamá y sobre la preparación del próximo encuentro de ALANCAR (Asociación Latinoamericana de los Carmelitas), que tendrá lugar del 23 al 27 de octubre de 2018. La reunión concluyó con la comida en medio de un ambiente alegre y fraterno.

Riunione del Consiglio Generale
L’ultima riunione del Consiglio Generale si è tenuta dal 29 maggio al 6 giugno. Oltre i diversi temi di ordinaria amministrazione e le relazioni dei Consiglieri Generali, il Priore Generale ed il suo Consiglio hanno fatto le seguenti nomine:

Regens Studiorum (a partire dell’anno academico 2017-2018): Míceál O’Neill, già nominato priore del CISA nella sessione 178 del 13 marzo 2017.

Secondo consigliere della Delegazione Generale di Francia: Martin Gilloux.
Priore della comunità di Nantes in Francia: Gianfranco Tuveri.

Il Consiglio ha approvato anche altre traduzioni della nuova formula per la professione semplice e solenne.

Oltre al lavoro del Consiglio, durante questa sessione plenaria si è svolta il 6 giugno nella nostra Curia la riunione semestrale con i membri del Consiglio Generale dei Carmelitani Scalzi. Il Preposito Generale OCD, P. Saverio Cannistrà, ha presentato un resoconto sull’assemblea dell’USG del 24-26 maggio 2017, durante la quale si sono affrontati due temi fondamentali: il primo riguardava la vita consacrata e l’interculturalità, mentre il secondo era centrato sul prossimo Sinodo dei Vescovi avente per tema “I giovani, la fede e il discernimento vocazionale”. Poi sono state scambiate vari informazioni, tra l’altro sulla Giornata Mondiale della Gioventù nel gennaio 2019 a Panama e sulla preparazione del prossimo incontro di ALACAR (Associazione Latinoamericana dei Carmelitani), che si terrà dal 23 al 27 ottobre 2018. L'incontro si è concluso con il pranzo in un ambiente allegro e fraterno.
