Process for the canonization of Blessed Tius Brandsma
Yesterday, the 6th of February, in the presence of the Prior General of our Order, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral O. Carm., of the Postulator General, Dr. Giovanna Brizi, the General Councilors for Europe and Asia (John Keating, O.Carm and Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm.) and Fr. Ton Van der Gulik, O.Carm., representing the Dutch Province, the opening of the documents of inquiry regarding the alleged miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Tito Brandsma in the Diocese of Palm Beach (Florida, USA) took place. All the documentation had been presented to the Congregation on January the 24th by the Vice Postulator of the cause of the miracle, Fr. Mario Esposito, O.Carm.
This very simple and yet solemn act took place at the Congregation for the Causes of Saints (Congregatio Pro Causis Sanctorum). Later they were received by Monsignor Marcello Bartolucci, Archbishop Secretary of the Congregation, who invited the Carmelites to imitate the example of the life of Blessed Titus and to continue praying for this cause of canonization.

Proceso de canonización del beato Tito Brandsma
Ayer, 6 de febrero, en presencia del Prior General de nuestra Orden, P. Fernando Millán Romeral O.Carm., de la Postuladora General, la Profesora Giovanna Brizi, de los consejeros generales para Europa y Asia (John Keating, O.Carm. y Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm.) y del P. Ton Van der Gulik, O.Carm., que representó a la Provincia Holandesa, tuvo lugar la apertura de los documentos de la investigación sobre el presunto milagro atribuido a la intercesión del beato Tito Brandsma, realizada en la diócesis de Palm Beach (Florida, EEUU). Toda la documentación había sido presentada a la Congregación el pasado día 24 de enero por el Vice Postulador de la causa del milagro, P. Mario Esposito, O.Carm.
El acto (muy sencillo y solemne a la vez) tuvo lugar en la Congregación para las Causas de los Santos (“Congregatio Pro Causis Sanctorum”). Posteriormente, los presentes fueron recibidos por Monseñor Marcello Bartolucci, Arzobispo Secretario de la Congregación, quien invitó a los Carmelitas a imitar el ejemplo de vida del beato Tito y a seguir orando por esta causa de canonización.

Processo di canonizzazione del beato Tito Brandsma
Ieri, 6 febbraio, alla presenza del Priore Generale del nostro Ordine, P. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., della Postulatrice Generale, Dott.ssa Giovanna Brizi, dei Consiglieri Generali per Europa e per l'Asia, P. John Keating, O.Carm, e P. Benny Phang Khong Wing, O.Carm. e di P. Ton Van der Gulik, O.Carm., in rappresentanza della Provincia Olandese, ha avuto luogo l'apertura dei documenti dell’inchiesta sul presunto miracolo del beato Tito Brandsma svolta nella diocesi di Palm Beach in Florida, Stati Uniti. Tutta la documentazione era stata presentata alla Congregazione lo scorso 24 gennaio dal Vice Postulatore della causa del miracolo, P. Mario Esposito, O.Carm.
L'atto semplice e allo stesso tempo solenne si è tenuto nella Congregazione per le Cause dei Santi (Congregatio Pro Causis Sanctorum). In seguito i presenti sono stati accolti da Mons. Marcello Bartolucci, arcivescovo segretario della Congregazione, che ha invitato i carmelitani ad imitare l'esempio della vita del beato Tito e a continuare a pregare per la causa di canonizzazione.
