Meeting of the General Secretariat for Carmelite Nuns
From August 31 to September 3 the General Secretariat for Carmelite Nuns met at the Sant'Alberto International Center in Rome. At the meeting, chaired by Fr. Mario Alfarano, Delegate General, all members were present: Sr. M. Pilar Simon i Blasco (BAR), Sr. Liliana Capos Rosa (ANT), Sr. M. Elena Tolentino (BUR), Sr. Marianna Caprio (VET), Sr. Inés Carmona Ortiz (TRU) and Fr. Paul Denault (SEL). After a reflection on "Cor Orans", the Instruction of the Congregation of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life which deals with the application of some parts of Pope Francis's exhortation, "Vultum Dei Quaerere", the Secretariat formulated a proposal for a procedure for the updating of the Constitutions of the Nuns. This proposal was approved by the Prior General and his Council at the session of September 7. In addition, the meeting set out the program for the triennial meeting of the federal leaders and of the representatives of the not yet federated monasteries due to be held in March 2019, as well as the first meeting of the Commission for the updating of the Constitutions. Finally, in accordance with a detailed calendar, the itinerary of the Icon of St. Mary Magdalene de 'Pazzi was planned for all the monasteries and hermitages of the Order. This project will be presented at the March meeting. The Secretariat also made an assessment of the bulletin, "Adopt a Monastery" and made some changes.
During the last session the members enjoyed a fruitful exchange with the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral.

Encuentro del Secretariado General para las Monjas
Del 31 de agosto al 3 de septiembre estuvo reunido el el Centro Internacional San Alberto el Secretariado General para las Monjas. La reunión, presidida por el P. Mario Alfarano, contó con la asistencia de todos sus miembros: Sor Mª Pilar Simon i Blasco (BAR), Sor Liliana Capos Rosa (ANT), Sor Mª Elena Tolentino (BUR), Sor Marianna Caprio (VET), Sor Inés Carmona Ortiz (TRU) y el P. Paul Denault (SEL). Tras una reflexión sobre la Instrucción “Cor orans”, documento de la Congregación para la Vida Consagrada y las Sociedades de Vida Apostólica que aplica algunas partes de “Vultum Dei Quaerere” del Papa Francisco, el Secretariado elaboró una propuesta para la actualización de las Constituciones de las Monjas. Esta propuesta fue aprobada por el Prior General y su Consejo en la sesión del 7 de septiembre. Por otra parte, se hizo la programación del encuentro trienal de las federales y representantes de los monasterios que todavía no se han federado, el cual tendrá lugar durante el mes de marzo de 2019, juntamente con el primer encuentro de la Comisión para la actualización de las Constituciones. Finalmente se pensó, siguiendo un calendario detallado, en la peregrinación del icono de Sta. María Magdalena de Pazzi a todos los monasterios i eremitorios de la Orden. Este proyecto será presentado en el encuentro de marzo. El Secretariado también efectuó la valoración del boletín “Adopta un Monasterio”, para el que aportó algunas modificaciones.
Durante la última sesión tuvo lugar un enriquecedor intercambio con el Prior General, P. Ferrnando Millán Romeral.

Incontro del Segretariato Generale per le Monache
Dal 31 agosto al 3 settembre si è incontrato il Segretariato Generale per le Monache presso il Centro Internazionale Sant'Alberto. Alla riunione, presieduta da P. Mario Alfarano, Delegato generale, erano presenti tutti i membri: Sr. M. Pilar Simon i Blasco (BAR), Sr. Liliana Capos Rosa (ANT), Sr. M. Elena Tolentino (BUR), Sr. Marianna Caprio (VET), Sr. Inés Carmona Ortiz (TRU) e P. Paul Denault (SEL). Dopo una riflessione sulla "Cor Orans", l'Istruzione della Congregazione per la Vita Consacrata e le Società di Vita Apostolica che applica alcune parti della "Vultum Dei Quaerere" di papa Francesco, il Segretariato ha formulato una proposta di procedura per l'aggiornamento delle Costituzioni delle Monache. Tale proposta è stata approvata dal Priore Generale e dal suo Consiglio nella sessione del 7 settembre. Inoltre, è stato elaborato il programma dell'incontro triennale delle federali e delle rappresentanti dei monasteri non ancora federati che si terrà, nel mese di marzo 2019, insieme al primo incontro della Commissione per l'aggiornamento delle Costituzioni. Infine, è stata ideata, secondo un calendario dettagliato, la peregrinazione dell'Icona di S. Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi per tutti i monasteri e gli eremi dell'Ordine. Tale progetto verrà presentato all'incontro di marzo. Il Segretariato ha anche fatto una valutazione del bollettino "Adotta un Monastero" apportando alcune modifiche.
Durante l'ultima sessione c'è stata l'occasione di avere uno scambio proficuo con il Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán Romeral.
