A meeting of the Federal leaders and the Commission for the Constitutions of the nuns
From May 21 to 29, at the Carmelite Centre in Sassone in Italy, the second assembly of the Federal Presidents and representatives of the non-federated monasteries of the Carmelite Order took place together with the Commission for the updating of the Constitutions of the Carmelite Nuns. Some provincial assistants and delegates also attended the meeting. The first three days were dedicated to the presentation of the documents, Vultum Dei Quaerere and Cor Orans, linking them to the tradition and spirituality of Carmel. After the initial report of the General Delegate, Fr. Mario Alfarano, who led the whole meeting, there were some introductory communications regarding, the updating of the Constitutions of the friars (Fr. Michael Farrugia, Procurator General), the experience of the Dominican friars and Dominican nuns (Sr. Claudia Benigno, OP), and the history of the Constitutions of the Carmelite nuns (Vera Frantellizzi). Archbishop Filippo Iannone and Fr. Rafal Wilkowski, OCD, gave their input on the first three parts of Cor Orans, and that was followed by some items of communication relating to a number of concrete themes: the federal leader (Sr. M. Sagrario Lorite, VAL), the foundations ( Sr. M. Clare Kasichana, MUT), the suppressions (Sr. M. Dolores Dominguez, COR) and the affiliation of monasteries (Sr. Miriam Tamiano, CER), the enclosure (Sr. Lourdes Aviles) and the media (Sr. Marianna Caprio, VET). The theme of formation was treated in relation to the formator (Sr. Madonna Morales, WAH), the ongoing formation of a community (Sr. Carmen Izquierdo, BAR) and leadership in a federation (Sr. M. Elena Tolentino, BUR).
On May 25, all 35 participants went on pilgrimage to the places associated with St. Mary Magdalene de 'Pazzi in Florence. The Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán, led the celebration of the Eucharist in the monastery of the Saint. For lunch, all were guests of the community (the friars and families) of the Carmine in Florence. The last three days were devoted entirely to the work of the Commission on the Constitutions.

Encuentro de las Federales y de la Comisión para las Constituciones de las Monjas
Del 21 al 29 de mayo tuvo lugar en el Centro de Sassone, Italia, la segunda asamblea de las Presidentes Federales y de las representantes de los monasterios no federados de la Orden Carmelitana juntamente con la Comisión para la actualización de las Constituciones de las Monjas Carmelitas. En el encuentro también participaron algunos asistentes y delegados provinciales. Los tres primeros días se dedicaron a la presentación de los documentos Vultum Dei quaerere y Cor orans, desde una perspectiva coligada a la tradición y a la espiritualidad del Carmelo. Después de la conferencia inicial del Delegado General, P. Mario Alfarano, que condujo todo el encuentro, hubo algunas comunicaciones introductorias sobre: la actualización de las Constituciones de los frailes (P. Michael Farrugia, Procurador General), la experiencia de los frailes y de las monjas dominicas (Sor Claudia Benigno, OP) y sobre la historia de las Constituciones de las monjas carmelitas (Vera Frantellizzi). Mons. Filippo Iannone y el P. Rafal Wilkowki, OCD, hablaron sobre las tres primeras partes de la Cor Orans, tras lo cual sevrealizaron algunas comunicaciones sobre temas concretos: la federal (Sor M.ª Sagrario Lorite, VAL), las fundaciones (Sor M.ª Clare Kasichana, MUT), las supresiones (Sor M.ª Dolores Dominguez, COR), las afiliaciones de los monasterios (Sor Miriam Tamiano, CER), la clausura (Sor Lourdes Aviles) y los medios de comunicación (Sor Marianna Caprio, VET). El tema de la formación fue abordado desde el punto de vista de una formadora (Sor Madonna Morales, WAH), el de la formación permanente de una comunidad (Sor Carmen Izquierdo, BAR) y el de la formación en una federación (Sor Elena Tolentino, BUR).
El 25 de mayo, los 35 participantes fueron en peregrinación a los lugares de Sta. María Magdalena de Pazzi en Florencia donde el Prior General, P. Fernando Millán, presidió la eucaristía en el monasterio de la Santa. Sin embargo, para la comida fueron acogidos por la comunidad (los hermanos y las familias) del Carmine de Florencia. Los últimos tres días se dedicaron por completo al trabajo de la Comisión sobre las Constituciones.

Incontro delle Federali e della Commissione per le Costituzioni delle monache
Dal 21 al 29 maggio, presso il Centro di Sassone, in Italia, si è svolta la seconda assemblea delle Presidenti Federali e delle rappresentanti dei monasteri non federati dell’Ordine Carmelitano insieme alla Commissione per l’aggiornamento delle Costituzioni delle Carmelitane. All’incontro hanno partecipato anche alcuni assistenti e delegati provinciali. I primi tre giorni sono stati dedicati alla presentazione dei documenti Vultum Dei Quaerere e Cor Orans, secondo una prospettiva legata alla tradizione e alla spiritualità del Carmelo. Dopo la relazione iniziale del Delegato generale, P. Mario Alfarano, che ha guidato tutto l’incontro, vi sono state alcune comunicazioni introduttive su: l’aggiornamento delle Costituzioni dei frati (P. Michael Farrugia, Procuratore Generale), l’esperienza dei frati e delle monache domenicani (sr. Claudia Benigno, OP), e la storia delle Costituzioni delle monache carmelitane (Vera Frantellizzi). Mons. Filippo Iannone e P. Rafal Wilkowski, OCD, hanno relazionato sulle prime tre parti della Cor Orans, a cui hanno fatto seguito alcune comunicazioni su alcuni temi concreti: la federale (Sr. M. Sagrario Lorite, VAL), le fondazioni (Sr. M. Clare Kasichana, MUT), le soppressioni (Sr. M. Dolores Dominguez, COR) e le affiliazioni dei monasteri (Sr. Miriam Tamiano, CER), la clausura (Sr. Lourdes Aviles) e i mezzi di comunicazione (Sr. Marianna Caprio, VET). Il tema della formazione è stato trattato dal punto di vista di una formatrice (Sr. Madonna Morales, WAH), della formazione permanente di una comunità (Sr. Carmen Izquierdo, BAR) e dell’animazione in una federazione (Sr. M. Elena Tolentino, BUR).
Il 25 maggio tutti i 35 partecipanti si sono recati in pellegrinaggio nei luoghi di S. Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi a Firenze dove il Priore Generale, P. Fernando Millán, ha presieduto l’eucarestia nel monastero della Santa. Per il pranzo, invece, sono stati ospiti della comunità (i frati e le famiglie) del Carmine di Firenze. Gli ultimi tre giorni sono stati interamente dedicati al lavoro della Commissione sulle Costituzioni.
