CELEBRATING AT HOME - 16TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Lord Jesus,
you are the compassion of God.

Lord Jesus,
your word sustains life.

Lord Jesus,
you are the good Shepherd.

In the Gospel Mark shows Jesus to be a true shepherd whose heart is moved by the needs of both the people and his own disciples. The disciples have returned from their preaching and tell Jesus everything that happened to them. These exhausted shepherds are weary but the people keep coming to them, so much so that they had no time even to eat.

Jesus, moved by compassion for them, invites them to a place of quiet and rest, but the people guess where they are going and follow them. Instead of sending the people away, Jesus himself sets about teaching them while the disciples rest. He feeds the people with the Word of God. It is what genuine love does, isn’t it? It helps us go the ‘extra mile’ even when we think we are at the end of our tether.

CELEBRANDO EN FAMILIA - EL DECIMOSEXTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO

Señor Jesús,
Tú eres la compasión de Dios.

Señor Jesús,
Tu palabra sostiene la vida.

Señor Jesús,
Tú eres el buen pastor.

En el Evangelio, Marcos muestra a Jesús como un verdadero pastor cuyo corazón se conmueve ante las necesidades de la gente y de sus propios discípulos. Los discípulos han regresado de su predicación y le cuentan a Jesús todo lo que les ha ocurrido. Estos pastores están agotados, pero la gente sigue acudiendo a ellos, tanto que no tienen tiempo para comer.

Jesús, movido por la compasión hacia ellos, los invita a un lugar tranquilo para descansar, pero la gente adivina a dónde va y los sigue. En lugar de despedir a la gente, Jesús mismo se pone a enseñarles mientras los discípulos descansan. Alimenta a la gente con la Palabra de Dios. Esto es lo que hace el amor gratuito, ¿no es así? Nos ayuda a ir más allá, incluso cuando creemos que estamos al límite de nuestras fuerzas.

CELEBRANDO IN CASA - XVI DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO

Signore Gesù,
Tu sei la compassione di Dio.

Signore Gesù,
la tua Parola è sostegno della vita.

Signore Gesù,
Tu sei il buon Pastore.

Nel Vangelo Marco mostra Gesù come un vero pastore il cui cuore è mosso dalle necessità sia della gente che dei propri discepoli. I discepoli sono tornati dalla loro predicazione e raccontano a Gesù tutto quello che è successo loro. Questi pastori esausti sono stanchi ma la gente continua ad andare da loro, tanto che non hanno avuto nemmeno il tempo di mangiare.

Gesù, mosso da compassione nei loro confronti, li invita in un luogo di pace e di riposo, ma la gente capisce dove stanno andando e li segue. Invece di mandare via le persone, Gesù stesso si mette a educarle mentre i discepoli riposano. Egli nutre le persone con la Parola di Dio. È ciò che fa l'amore genuino, non è vero? Ci aiuta a fare quel “miglio in più” anche quando pensiamo di essere al limite.
