15th General Chapter of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus

The 15th General Chapter of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus has been in session since September 8th at the "Mary Mother of Carmel" retreat house in Focene (near Fiumicino airport outside Rome). The theme of the meeting is “Sisters Who Love Each Other in Diversity, Missionaries to the Existential Peripheries in the Spirit of the Founders, 'So That The World May Believe'".

The first phase of the Chapter was focused on the rewriting of the constitutions for the Congregation.

On Monday, September 20, the Chapter elected the new Superior General, Sr. M. Lilian Kapongo della Delegazione “Santa Teresina” di Tanzania. Il giorno seguente ha eletto il nuovo Consiglio generale. The new leadership team is listed below.

Following the election process, the Chapter will initiate its third phase: determining the main focuses of the Congregation for the next six years.

XV Capítulo General de las Hermanas Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús

El XV Capítulo General de la Congregación de las Hermanas Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús está reunido desde el 8 de septiembre en la casa de espiritualidad "María Madre del Carmelo" en Focene (cerca del aeropuerto de Fiumicino, en las afueras de Roma). El tema del encuentro es "Hermanas que se aman en la diversidad, misioneras de las periferias existenciales en el espíritu de los fundadores, para que el mundo crea".

La primera parte del Capítulo se centró en la reescritura de las Constituciones de la Congregación.

El lunes 20 de septiembre, el Capítulo eligió a la nueva Madre Superiora General, la Hna. M. Lilian Kapongo de la Delegación "Santa Teresa" de Tanzania. Al día siguiente eligió el nuevo Consejo General.

Tras el proceso de elección, el Capítulo comenzará su tercera fase: trabajar en las directrices para los próximos seis años.

Il XV Capitolo Generale della Congregazione delle Suore Carmelitane Missionarie Di S. Teresa Del Bambino Gesù è in sessione dal 8 settembre presso la casa di ritiro "Maria Madre del Carmelo" a Focene (vicino all'aeroporto di Fiumicino, fuori Roma). Il tema dell'incontro è "Suore che si amano nella diversità, missionarie delle periferie esistenziali nello spirito dei fondatori, perché il mondo creda".

La prima parte del Capitolo si è focalizzata sulla riscrittura delle costituzioni della Congregazione.

Lunedì 20 settembre il Capitolo ha eletto la nuova Madre Superiora Generale, Sr. M. Lilian Kapongo della Delegazione "Santa Teresina" di Tanzania. Il giorno seguente ha eletto il nuovo Consiglio Generale.

Dopo il processo di elezione, il Capitolo inizierà la sua terza fase: lavorare sulle linee guida per i prossimi sei anni.
