Ninth General Chapter of the Carmelite Sisters of Our Lady (Carm. O.L.)

The Carmelite Sisters of Our Lady gathered for their Ninth General Chapter to discern the will of God for the Congregation for the next four years. The momentous celebration took place at St. Joseph Seminary College in Agan-an, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Philippines on April 11-19, 2023.

The theme of the Chapter, “You are the Salt of the Earth and Light of the World” taken from Matthew 5:13-14 underscores the congregations unique calling to be agents of change in a world that hungers for love and light. As a Congregation, they seek to embody the love of Christ in a special way and are committed to be the light in the world.

At the General Chapter of Elections, the following were elected for the next quadrennium:

IX Capítulo General de las Hermanas Carmelitas de Nuestra Señora (Carm. O.L.)

Las Hermanas Carmelitas de Nuestra Señora se reunieron en su Noveno Capítulo General para discernir la voluntad de Dios para la Congregación en los próximos cuatro años. La trascendental celebración tuvo lugar en el Colegio Seminario San José en Agan-an, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Filipinas, del 11 al 19 de abril de 2023.

El tema del Capítulo, "Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra y la luz del mundo", tomado de Mateo 5:13-14, subraya la vocación única de las congregaciones de ser agentes de cambio en un mundo sediento de amor y luz. Como Congregación, tratan de encarnar el amor de Cristo de una manera especial, y se comprometen a ser luz en el mundo.

En el Capítulo General de Elecciones, fueron elegidas para el próximo cuatrienio:

IX Capitolo Generale delle Suore Carmelitane di Nostra Signora (Carm. O.L.)

Le Suore Carmelitane di Nostra Signora si sono riunite per il loro IX Capitolo Generale per discernere la volontà di Dio per la Congregazione nei prossimi quattro anni. L'importante celebrazione si è svolta presso il St. Joseph Seminary College di Agan-an, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Filippine, dall'11 al 19 aprile 2023.

Il tema del Capitolo, "Voi siete il sale della terra e la luce del mondo", tratto da Matteo 5, 13-14, sottolinea la chiamata unica delle Congregazioni ad essere agenti di cambiamento in un mondo che ha fame di amore e di luce. Come Congregazione, esse cercano di incarnare l'amore di Cristo in modo speciale e si impegnano a essere la luce nel mondo.
