Saint Teresa Margaret Redi was born in Arezzo on September 1, 1747 into the noble family of Redi. In 1764, she entered the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites in Florence, changing her baptismal name of Anna Maria to that of Teresa Margaret of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. 

She grounded her spiritual and religious life in devotion to the Eucharist and to Our Lady, and in her dedication to the Sacred Heart which she described as a "giving of love for love". She led a humble and hidden life in the love of God and the total offering of herself and she gave caring and continuous service to her sisters. She died of peritonitis on March 7, 1770. She was beatified in 1929 and canonised by Pope Pius XI on March 13, 1934.

Nace en Arezzo el 1 de septiembre de 1747 de la noble familia Redi. En 1764 entró en el monasterio de las Carmelitas descalzas de Florencia, cambiando su nombre de bautismo, Ana María, por el de Teresa Margarita del Sdo. Corazón de Jesús.

Ahondó su vida espiritual y religiosa en la piedad eucarística y mariana, y en la devoción al Sdo. Corazón entendida como un "entregar amor por amor". Llevó una vida humilde y escondida en el amor y en la inmolación de sí misma, y dedicada al servicio primoroso y constante hacia las hermanas. Murió, truncada por una peritonitis, el 7 de marzo de 1770. Beatificada en 1929, fue canonizada por Pío XI el 13 de marzo de 1934.

Nacque ad Arezzo il 1º settembre 1747 dalla nobile famiglia Redi. Nel 1764 entrò nel monastero delle Carmelitane Scalze di Firenze, cambiando il nome di battesimo Anna Maria con quello di Teresa Margherita del S. Cuore di Gesù.

Approfondì la sua vita spirituale e religiosa nella pietà eucaristica e mariana, e nella devozione al S. Cuore intesa come un "rendere amore per amore". Condusse una vita umile e nascosta nell'amore e nell'immolazione di se stessa, e dedita al servizio premuroso e costante verso le sorelle. Morì, stroncata da una peritonite, il 7 marzo 1770. Beatificata nel 1929, venne canonizzata da Pio XI il 13 marzo 1934.
