General Chapter of the Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria Held in Caracas From August 30 to September 6, 2024, the Congregation of the Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria celebrated their XVII General Chapter. “Walking Together in Communion, Participation and Mission” was chosen as the theme of the gathering. The General Chapter was held at the generalate in Caracas-DC, Venezuela, with the participation of 31 sisters from the congregation’s communities in Venezuela, Bolivia, and Brazil. After a previous week of spiritual exercises, the chapter days were taken up with reflection on the experience of religious consecration in the institute. An agreement was arrived at on the courses of action to be taken in order to promote fraternal communion, and the spiritual and apostolic vitality of the congregation. The Carmelite Family will celebrate 100 years of the congregation’s aggregation to the Carmelite Order on March 25, 2025. The XVII General Chapter also elected the sisters who will form the general government of the congregation during the six-year period 2024-2030: + + +
Capítulo General de las Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria celebrado en Caracas Del 30 de agosto al 6 de septiembre de 2024, la Congregación de las Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria celebró su XVII Capítulo General. El tema elegido fue «Caminando juntos en comunión, participación y misión». El Capítulo General se celebró en la casa generalicia de Caracas-DC, Venezuela, con la participación de 31 hermanas de las comunidades de la congregación en Venezuela, Bolivia y Brasil. Tras una semana previa de ejercicios espirituales, los días capitulares se dedicaron a reflexionar sobre la experiencia de consagración religiosa en el instituto. Se llegó a un acuerdo sobre las líneas de acción a seguir para promover la comunión fraterna y la vitalidad espiritual y apostólica de la congregación. La Familia Carmelita celebrará los 100 años de agregación de la congregación a la Orden Carmelita el 25 de marzo de 2025. El XVII Capítulo General también eligió a las hermanas que formarán el gobierno general de la congregación durante el sexenio 2024-2030: + + +
Capitolo generale delle Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria a Caracas Dal 30 agosto al 6 settembre 2024, la Congregazione delle Hermanas Carmelitas de Madre Candelaria ha celebrato il suo XVII Capitolo generale. Il tema dell'incontro è stato “Camminare insieme nella comunione, nella partecipazione e nella missione”. Il Capitolo generale si è tenuto presso la casa generalizia di Caracas-DC, in Venezuela, con la partecipazione di 31 suore provenienti dalle comunità della congregazione in Venezuela, Bolivia e Brasile. Dopo una settimana di esercizi spirituali, i giorni del Capitolo sono stati dedicati alla riflessione sull'esperienza della consacrazione religiosa nell'Istituto. È stato raggiunto un accordo sulle linee di azione da intraprendere per promuovere la comunione fraterna e la vitalità spirituale e apostolica della congregazione. La Famiglia Carmelitana celebrerà i 100 anni di aggregazione all'Ordine Carmelitano il 25 marzo 2025.
