GREETINGS BY HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE BEATIFICATION CEREMONY

I now greet the pilgrims who have come from various regions of Italy and the world to honor Blessed Maria Crocifissa Curcio. My heartfelt thoughts go out to each and every one of you, especially to those who are part of the spiritual family of the Missionary Carmelite Sisters of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus.

This newly beatified woman placed the presence of the merciful Jesus—whom she encountered and adored in the Sacrament of the Eucharist—at the center of her life. A genuine passion for souls characterized the life of Mother Maria Crocifissa, who zealously practiced “spiritual reparation” to reciprocate Jesus’ love for us. Her life was one of constant prayer, even as she went about serving others, especially poor and needy young women. May Blessed Maria Crocifissa Curcio continue to watch over from heaven the Congregation she founded and all her devotees.

PALABRAS DE DESPEDIDA DE SU SANTIDAD BENEDICTO XVI AL FINAL DE LA CELEBRACIÓN DE LA BEATIFICACIÓN

Ahora saludo a los peregrinos que han venido de varias regiones de Italia y del mundo para honrar a la Beata María Crucificada Curcio. A todos y a cada uno les dedico un cordial saludo, especialmente a quienes forman parte de la Familia espiritual de las Hermanas Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús.

Esta nueva Beata puso en el centro de su vida la presencia de Jesús misericordioso, a quien encontró y adoró en el Sacramento de la Eucaristía. Una auténtica pasión por las almas marcó la vida de la Madre María Crucificada, quien cultivaba con entusiasmo la «reparación espiritual» para corresponder al amor de Jesús por nosotros. Su vida fue una oración constante, incluso cuando salía a servir a la gente, especialmente a las chicas pobres y necesitadas. Que la Beata María Crucificada Curcio siga velando desde el cielo por la Congregación que ella fundó y por todos sus devotos.

PAROLE DI SALUTO DI SUA SANTITÀ BENEDETTO XVI AL TERMINE DELLA CELEBRAZIONE DI BEATIFICAZIONE

Saluto ora i pellegrini che da varie regioni d’Italia e del mondo sono venuti per onorare la Beata Maria Crocifissa Curcio. A tutti e a ciascuno il mio cordiale pensiero, specialmente a quanti fanno parte della Famiglia spirituale delle Suore Carmelitane Missionarie di Santa Teresa del Bambino Gesù.

Al centro della sua vita questa nuova Beata ha posto la presenza di Gesù misericordioso, incontrato e adorato nel Sacramento dell’Eucaristia. Un’autentica passione per le anime ha caratterizzato l’esistenza di Madre Maria Crocifissa che coltivava con slancio la "riparazione spirituale" per ricambiare l’amore di Gesù per noi. La sua esistenza fu un continuo pregare anche quando si recava a servire la gente, specialmente le ragazze povere e bisognose. Continui dal cielo la Beata Maria Crocifissa Curcio a vegliare sulla Congregazione da lei fondata e su tutti i suoi devoti.
