St. Teresa Margaret Redi, OCD., was recognized as an intensely spiritual religious with a profound devotion to the phrase "God is love." She was also noted for her humble service to the sick.

One of the girls who had graduated from the boarding school several years before approached one of Anna Maria’s teachers to thank her for the education and the Christian formation, as she was entering the Carmelites. Anna Maria saw the deep joy on this young woman’s face and instantly knew that she, too, desired to enter the Carmelites.

In the spring of 1764, she applied to the Monastery of St. Teresa in Florence and was admitted in November. She took the name Teresa Margaret of the Sacred Heart and professed her vows in March of 1766.

Teresa was assigned the role of community nurse, and she tenderly cared for the suffering sisters in her care, particularly those experiencing mental illness. Teresa devoted herself to caring for her fellow sisters and cultivating her robust interior life. As a Carmelite sister, Teresa maintained the disposition of joy that drew her to the Order, despite rebukes and harsh treatment.

Teresa died at the age of twenty-three, on March 11, 1770, in the midst of an outbreak of a disease in the monastery. She continued caring for other ill nuns until she reached her deathbed. Teresa’s body, swollen from disease, at the time of her funeral, had miraculously been restored to its healthy form.

Santa Teresa Margarita Redi, OCD, fue reconocida como una religiosa de gran espiritualidad, con una profunda devoción por la frase «Dios es amor». También se la destacaba por su humilde servicio a los enfermos.

Una de las chicas que se había graduado del internado varios años antes se acercó a una de las maestras de Anna María para agradecerle la educación y la formación cristiana que había recibido, ya que estaba a punto de ingresar a las Carmelitas. Anna María vio la profunda alegría en el rostro de esta joven y al instante supo que ella también deseaba ingresar a las Carmelitas.

En la primavera de 1764, presentó su solicitud al Monasterio de Santa Teresa en Florencia y fue admitida en noviembre. Tomó el nombre de Teresa Margarita del Sagrado Corazón y profesó sus votos en marzo de 1766.

A Teresa le asignaron el papel de enfermera de la comunidad, y cuidó con ternura a las hermanas que sufrían bajo su cuidado, especialmente a aquellas que padecían enfermedades mentales. Teresa se dedicó por completo a cuidar a sus hermanas y a cultivar su sólida vida interior. Como hermana carmelita, Teresa mantuvo esa actitud de alegría que la había atraído a la Orden, a pesar de las reprimendas y el trato duro.

Teresa murió a los veintitrés años, el 11 de marzo de 1770, en medio de un brote de enfermedad en el monasterio. Siguió cuidando a otras monjas enfermas hasta su lecho de muerte. El cuerpo de Teresa, hinchado por la enfermedad, en el momento de su funeral había recuperado milagrosamente su aspecto saludable.

Santa Teresa Margherita Redi, OCD, era nota per essere una religiosa di grande spiritualità, con una profonda devozione alla frase “Dio è amore”. Si distingueva anche per il suo umile servizio ai malati.

Una delle ragazze che si era diplomata al collegio diversi anni prima si avvicinò a una delle insegnanti di Anna Maria per ringraziarla dell’istruzione e della formazione cristiana ricevute, proprio mentre stava per entrare nell’ordine delle Carmelitane. Anna Maria vide la gioia profonda sul volto di quella giovane donna e capì subito che anche lei desiderava entrare nell’ordine delle Carmelitane.

Nella primavera del 1764, fece domanda al Monastero di Santa Teresa a Firenze e fu ammessa a novembre. Prese il nome di Teresa Margherita del Sacro Cuore e professò i voti nel marzo del 1766.

A Teresa fu affidato il ruolo di infermiera della comunità e si prese cura con tenerezza delle consorelle sofferenti affidate alle sue cure, in particolare di quelle affette da malattie mentali. Teresa si dedicò alla cura delle sue consorelle e alla coltivazione della sua solida vita interiore. Come suora carmelitana, Teresa mantenne quell’atteggiamento gioioso che l’aveva attirata verso l’Ordine, nonostante i rimproveri e i trattamenti severi.

Teresa morì all’età di ventitré anni, l’11 marzo 1770, nel bel mezzo di un’epidemia scoppiata nel monastero. Continuò a prendersi cura delle altre suore malate fino al suo letto di morte. Il corpo di Teresa, gonfio a causa della malattia, al momento del funerale era stato miracolosamente riportato alla sua forma sana.
