The Ordinary Bi-annual meeting of the General Councils O.Carm.- O.C.D. On the 16th of December, just gone by, the bi-annual meeting of the General Council with the members of the General Council of the Discalced Carmelites took place in the General Curia of the O.C.D. Activities of the Prior General From the 22nd to the 24th of November, the Prior General, Fr. Fernando Millán Romeral, O.Carm., took part in the 4th Symposium in the series, “Textos para un Milenio” (Texts for a Millennium) that was held in the parish in Ayala, Madrid. Help for the Philippines Three weeks ago we sent out information on Task Force Carmel Cares, in response to Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines.  Today we are happy to report that over €100,000 ($135,000) has been collected by the Curia. General Council begins Meetings The General Council began a series of plenary meetings on 12th November, and apart from the ordinary administrative business of the order, the Council is studying a restructuring of the General Commissions, as recommended by the General Chapter. The Council hopes to finish the new structuring of the commissions by Christmas so that they can begin work in the new year.
